Hello! We're Annalise & Ellie, welcome to BookChats!

We are two best friends who love to read, drink tea, and discuss our favorite books! Our high school senior internship revolved around reading and making a series of podcasts. We got to interview both Nicole Griffin and Heather Vogel Frederick, along with our lovely librarian and creative writing teacher! 

We adore perusing bookstores and could spend hours staring at our own shelves (and each other's!). We love all types of novels and are both willing to read just about anything. Annalise loves a hearty fantasy novel or contemporary that reads like real life; Ellie loves something that involves family-based drama or a forbidden, tumultuous romance!  We both love Harry Potter and the Betsy-Tacy series and will frequently talk about them here! 

The Great British Bake Off, White Collar, every sort of tea, baking both delicious and disappointingly gross foods, and having snuggle dates with our favorite cats (Mittens and Pepper will surely make an appearance on this blog soon!) are some of our favorite non-bookish things!

BookChats: The Blog, is our way of continuing something we started out as purely a school project, but turned into something special. We loved doing the podcasts but never expected to gravitate towards sustaining BookChats and making it into a physical site that we could cherish and cultivate in order to share our love of reading with so many others. We love BookChats, and we hope you do too.
