Hello! Last year, Annalise introduced me to the world of TBR lists, and even though it was March, I tried to make one for 2017. However, I only read two of the twelve books on the list (eep it's so sad!). So, this year, I'm hoping for a more productive reading year!

I want to read at least 65 books in 2018, but here are the 12 that I am going to try to read for sure!

As the year goes on, I will bold the books I have read, so you can all keep me accountable!

1. The Witch Doesn't Burn in This One by Amanda Lovelace: This poetry collection is the sequel to The Princess Saves Herself in This One, which I read and loved in 2017. I am so excited to read more of Lovelace's poetry, as it was so inspiring to me.

2. Meet Cute by a variety of authors: I want to read Meet Cute because who doesn't love a good collection of romance stories? I sure do! I think the idea of seeing the start of a relationship and the start only is unique, and I love that!

3. Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli: I am going to be completely honest with you--I only want to read this because I saw the movie trailer (I know, I know, that's horrible!). But it sounds really cute, and I am so excited to learn all about Simon and his idiosyncrasies!

4. Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy: I read Dumplin' by Julie Murphy last summer, and really enjoyed the way she writes! So, when I heard that Ramona Blue is about a girl who grew up during hurricane Katrina and who is still feeling the affects many years later, I knew I had to put it on my TBR for 2018!

5. In Search of Us by Ava Dellaria: I read Love Letters to the Dead last March, and fell in love with Dellaria's writing. I cannot wait to read this multi-generational story, and March 6th could not come faster! I, also, have not read that many works that revolve around characters of African American descent, so I'm interested to read something about a culture I'm not involved in.

6. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo: This duology was Annalise's favorite duology of 2017-and she talked about it enough that I impulse-bought the first one. I tried to read it in August, but it was too hot and sticky out for me to be reading something about thievery and snow--so it is here, on my 2018 TBR, for the next snowstorm that decides to hit our town! (Also, I miss reading fantasy so bad).

7. Emily of Deep Valley by Maud Hart Lovelace: We (Annalise & I) read all of the Betsy-Tacy books for our senior internship project, and our lovely librarian gifted us with Emily for graduation. We both, however; have yet to pick it up (oops, sorry). I think I might pick it up when I finish my first year of college, as I think it'll help me reflect on the crazy year I've had. I also miss how Maud Hart Lovelace writes, so I am excited to read more! I've missed the Deep Valley world.

8. The Silver Star by Jeanette Walls: Honestly, this is on my TBR because it has been on my shelf for probably 3 years. It sounds interesting, and is all about family, but I haven't been in the mood to read it (for the last 3 years lol). I want to read it and enjoy it, so I'm saving it for a rainy day!

9. The Memory of Lemon by Judith Fertig: I read The Coincidence of Coconut Cake last year, and found the "baker who knows what food your soul really needs right now" trope to be incredibly endearing, so when I spotted The Memory of Lemon, I knew that I needed some lemon squares, a blanket, and that book to make my life complete.

10. Summer Days and Summer Nights by a variety of authors: When I read the My True Love Gave to Me collection of short, holiday themed romance stories, I knew I had to read the summer version. Stephanie Perkins is a genius for collecting these stories and putting them into books, and I will always gobble up short romance stories! (Can it be warm now so I can read them? Please?)

11. Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee: The only classic I enjoyed reading in high school was To Kill A Mockingbird. I am not being sarcastic, I suffered through Great Expectations and Death of a Salesman, but fell head over heels in love with TKAM. I loved loved loved Atticus, and am so exited to have a book that showcases more of this wonderful father figure.

12. This Savage Song by VE Schwab: I haven't read a good fantasy in a really long time, and when I heard about this tale of monsters, crime, and passion, I knew I had to get my hands on a copy! I also want to read the Darker Shade of Magic series she wrote, but I'll save that for my birthday list!
